March 25, 1999 - Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany !

After doing our Gottmann research in the Odenwald area of Germany, we drove southeast to the village of Rothenburg ob der Tauber (on the Tauber River). Rothenburg is the best known and loved of all the Romantic Road towns and is an great place to enjoy an authentic walled medieval town. Somehow we managed to drive into town through the "wall", and directly to our hotel (Hotel Burg) without a map. We felt truly lucky that night. We ate a german dinner at the Hotel Markusturm, and turned in early, as Sherrie was still trying to catch a cold.
